What are people saying this month?
Before you buy, post or build, check what real people said in the last 30 days. Rank it by how many people reacted, not by what an ad says. In 15 minutes, you learn how, with free tools.
- Reaction
- One person answering a post: an upvote, a like, a comment or a view. More reactions mean more people cared.
- A website of public forums, called subreddits. People post questions and reviews. Others vote and reply.
- Skill
- A saved set of instructions for Claude. Mine is called
last30days.
01 · The question
$300 headphones, one search
You want to buy a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. They cost $300. You search "best headphones".
The first page is a "Best headphones" list. You do not see its date. Some lists earn money when you click the buy button. The page says "perfect" about everything.
Real owners have talked about these headphones this month. You just need to find them. Make a guess.
A made-up case. No real store or product is named.
02 · Your guess
You find 200 posts. Which 5 do you read first?
A wrong guess costs nothing. Guessing first helps you remember the answer. Pick one to open the next part of the lesson.
03 · The 6 steps
How the skill finds the crowd
This is what my last30days skill really does. Press Next step to see each part. Later you learn the free way.
04 · Remember
Count the crowd, not the claims.
An ad says what the seller wants. A crowd shows what happened to real people. Many people reacting is the best sign that a post matters.
Look back 30 days. Older posts talk about old versions, old prices and bugs that are fixed.
At the restaurant
A sign says "Best pizza in town". A line out the door at 8 pm says more. Count the line, not the sign.
At the barber
You ask the barber if he is good. He says yes. You ask five men on the street. That is the answer you can trust.
A good check has 3 parts
- Recent. Only the last 30 days. Prices, bugs and versions change fast.
- Counted. Rank by how many people reacted. One angry post with 2 upvotes is one voice. A post with 2,000 upvotes is a crowd.
- Linked. Every claim has a link and a date. You can open it and read it yourself.
Why not trust the first Google result?
A search engine shows the best match for your words. It does not promise "from this month". Reddit's own help page says its default sort mixes how well the words match, how old the post is and its votes. Its "Top" sort, with a time filter, ranks by votes inside that time. Source: Reddit Help.
05 · Two checks
Pass two checks to finish
A miss is fine. Each miss gives you a new case.
Check 1 of 2 · Pick the best proof
Check 2 of 2 · Put the 6 steps in order
Tap the steps from first to last. If you tap the wrong one, you get a hint.
06 · Tell a friend
Your one-minute answer
A friend says: "I want to buy this. Is it good?" Say it in your own words. Here is a version you can use:
The one-minute version
"I do not trust the first result. I look at what real people said in the last 30 days. I search Reddit, and I sort by Top and Past month. Or I ask an AI with web search, and I ask for links, dates and the number of reactions. I read the biggest posts first. If an answer has no link or no date, I do not use it."
| Reddit, free | Search your topic. Sort by Top. Set time to Past month. |
| AI with web search | Ask for links, dates and reactions. Open two links to check. |
| My way | The /last30days skill in Claude Code. It searches Reddit, X, YouTube, TikTok and more. Some sources need extra keys. You do not need it for this lesson. |

Pick one thing you plan to buy, post or build this week. Then do both steps.
- Reddit. Go to reddit.com. Search your topic. Sort by Top. Set the time filter to Past month. Read the top 5 posts and their top comments.
- AI. Open an AI with web search, like ChatGPT or Claude. Paste this and change the topic:
Search the web for what real people said about [your topic] in the last 30 days. Use Reddit, YouTube, X and forums. Give me 5 links with dates. Rank them by how many people reacted. Quote 2 real comments. If you cannot find a date or a link, say so.
Check: open 2 of the links. Is the date right? Is the quote on the page? An AI can get a link wrong, so always look.
Stuck? Ask any AI: "Explain how to search Reddit by Top and Past month, like I am new."
This lesson shows how to read what people say. It is not shopping or investment advice.
