One Instagram post can end up on YouTube and TikTok without me copying captions by hand. Repurpose.io covers the Instagram to YouTube route. Buffer plus Codex works through my old basketball Reels, oldest to newest, one per day. You'll need a paid Buffer plan for four channels, and a description that reads right on YouTube.

One post, several accounts

Writing a fresh description for every account and copying posts across by hand takes time. Repurpose.io takes posts from Instagram and TikTok and sends them to YouTube. Buffer setup and cost

My basketball TikTok doesn't have enough videos on it, so Buffer moves my Instagram Reels over there. Buffer has an API, which makes it easier to work with.

  • Add Instagram under Channels, then press allow while you're logged in.

Letting Codex do the reposting

ChatGPT and Claude let you browse integrations and pick the one you want to work with. I already had mine set up, so I gave Codex the job in plain words.

Codex set itself a rule for next time: watch each Reel first, hold on to the original caption, and leave the AI clips off the basketball account. Then Codex posted one of my old Reels to TikTok.

  • Take the basketball Reels from Instagram and post them to my basketball TikTok.
  • Go oldest to newest, and pick up the new ones as they come.
  • Post once a day.
  • Keep the captions.

Captions that work on YouTube

An Instagram caption full of hashtags reads fine on Instagram and badly on YouTube after a repost. Repurpose.io takes the top of the caption as the YouTube title, and the rest goes into the description.

Write the description once so it reads well on YouTube, or get an AI to write it for you. Then go back and fix the titles on the videos you already posted.
