Consistency is the hardest part of the work, named three times over. In the gym that means a water rower, feet strapped to the footplates, and the same stroke taken again and again.
Rowing for consistency
I row on a water rower next to the dumbbell racks, with my feet strapped to the footplates and both hands on the straight handle.
- Start at the catch with the knees folded up and the arms reaching forward.
- Push the legs away and pull the handle in toward the body.
- Slide back up to the catch and take the next stroke.
