I asked AI to build a notes app. Then I opened a card on my phone and looked for somewhere to write my own notes.
The app had a board. It had projects. It had an Add note button at the bottom. But inside the card I opened, I could not find the notes I needed. I wanted to write something about that item, or leave a voice note with it.
My notes are in too many places
I have handwritten pages, sticky notes, notes on my phone and things I ask my AI bots. I want one place where I can find them and decide what to do next.
I already had NotesBot Capture. I could send a note through Telegram and have it transcribed and put where it needed to go. But I do not like pressing a lot of buttons. I want a simple web app where I can leave a note and keep moving.
So I ask Claude and Codex to work through the notes part together. I want a board where I can see what needs attention, move things between columns and keep a useful note as a note. I also want information from Grok and my Rick bots to reach the same place.
Can I bring my handwritten pages in too?
While the app is being built, I ask another question. Can a local AI model read a scan or photo of my handwritten notes? I would rather leave a large batch running on my Mac Studio than keep doing it on my MacBook.
The first recommendation has limits. It has not been tested on my machine yet. It may change words it thinks are wrong. Messy handwriting still needs a check.
Later, Claude reports a test with Qwen3-VL-30B-A3B on two old handwritten letters. The report says about six seconds per page. It also calls out difficult names, including Rogers and Hazzard.
That gives me something to try. It does not tell me how well it will read my own pages yet. The roughly 600 pages per hour shown in the report is a projection from the small test, not a pile of 600 pages I watched it finish.
Rethinking the connection
The first Grok connection copies chats on a schedule. I want to rebuild that. I would prefer a bot that can send useful information straight to the notes app.
Grok also creates a bot called Librarian. I like the name enough to ask for the Librarian from Monsters University as its picture. That part makes me laugh. The connections still need work.
The phone test gives me the next request
On my phone, the cards look organized. Then I open one. Where do I type my own notes? Where do I speak a note into that card?
The Add note button exists. The missing part is useful notes inside the cards, including voice notes. I also find a panel control that does not behave the way I expect. Trying to pull it down refreshes the page.
So I ask Claude to rethink the design and check the buttons on both the phone and computer. I need to explain the job better too. A rough draft gives me a starting point. Using it shows me what I still need to ask for.
The next request is for each bot to write a short daily summary and send it through Librarian. That is still work ahead. I want the notes to be useful when I come back to them.
We will get back to this project. Just keep building, because why not?
